This release is our take on the Maibock, a traditional German style released in May, hence its name: Mai, meaning May.
Maibock is a Helles Bock (aka Light Bock) that retains much of the smooth, sweet maltiness of traditional Bocks, without the heavy roasted notes or deep amber color frequently associated with the style.
Although this is a hearty beer that goes against the trend of light and fruited late spring/early summer beers, we love Maibock for its character and depth of flavor!
Maibock is 6.8% ABV and will be available exclusively on draft at our North End Taproom beginning on May 27th.
